The hourly profile on this page matters to a trade that closes today; to a trade that stays open it matters at exactly one moment. Spreads measured on FxPro's own MT5 Raw+ feed run at their tightest on EUR/USD through the calm hours and widen sharply around the daily rollover at 00:00 server time, which is 10:30 IST: in the hourly profile above that one hour carries the widest average of the day, several times the calm-hour median, and the worst reading in the sample is wider again. That same minute is when a position still open is stamped with a new value date and charged its overnight swap, so a held trade meets the widest spread of the day and its nightly financing at the same point on the clock. A spread is only paid when you enter or exit, so sitting through the rollover costs nothing extra in spread — but transacting at it does.

This is the live, hour-by-hour measured spread feed (refreshed daily). For the Standard vs Raw+ cost comparison and fees, see our spreads & costs page.

⚠️ Avoid the daily rollover. EUR/USD spreads blow out around 21:30 IST (00:00 FxPro server time), widening to about 1.782 pips and spiking higher — trade the calmer hours instead.

Best = the tightest quiet-market quote we saw; Typical = the median you usually trade; Busy market = the wider spread to expect about 10% of the time (news, rollover, thin liquidity). ‘At capture’ is the live spread at the last reading. Metals such as XAU/USD use a different contract size, so their cash cost is on our gold page. Server FxPro-MT5 Demo, feed 2026.09.15 14:10:41.

Spread through the trading day (measured, last 24h)

Best hours to trade EUR/USD: the hours with the most price range for the spread you pay (measured tradability score — movement divided by spread): 12:30 IST (range 23.3p), 13:30 IST (range 13.8p), 15:30 IST (range 13.1p). The thinnest hours, where range barely covers the spread, are around 22:30 IST, 20:30 IST, 21:30 IST. Times are shown in IST.

Table hours are FxPro server time (about UTC+3 / EET); the highlighted guidance above is shown in IST. Average pip spread by hour over the last 24 hours, with the worst single-tick spike. Spreads run tightest in the peak London–New York overlap and widen around the 00:00 server rollover and the thinner Asian hours — the sparkline is each instrument’s daily shape.

Advertised ‘from 0.0’ vs what we measured

FxPro markets Raw+ as spreads ‘from 0.0 pips’ — a best-case floor. Across our sample the tightest EUR/USD quote we recorded was 0.1 pips and the typical was 0.2 pips. That is normal: the ‘from’ figure is a floor you rarely trade on, so judge a Raw+ account by its typical spread and how far it widens under load (the p90 column), not the headline number.

How we measured this

Spreads are variable and widen around high-impact news and the daily rollover. Past readings do not guarantee future spreads. Last updated 2026-09-17.

The one minute a sleeping position cannot skip

Everything in the tables above belongs to the instant you transact. A position held for days transacts twice, at the beginning and at the end, and spends the rest of its life indifferent to which hour it is — with one exception. At 00:00 on the FxPro server clock, 10:30 IST, the value date rolls, and that is the only moment of the day that reaches a position doing nothing at all.

The measured profile makes the same minute the widest of the day. Around that hour EUR/USD averages several times its calm-hour median, and every instrument tracked here shows its worst readings in the same window. The hour that stamps the night is therefore also the worst hour to arrive in or to leave from.

What an hourly table cannot tell a holder

The tightest and widest columns answer a question about clicking: when to act and when to wait. They are silent on the second bill. A position opened in the calmest minute of the day and then kept for a fortnight will have used that calm minute exactly once, and crossed about ten value dates afterwards.

The two quantities do not even share a unit of time — one is read at an instant, the other accrues night by night — so neither can be weighed against the other until a horizon is fixed. That is why the day, week and month totals live on our swap rates page and not in the tables here.

Reading this page with a multi-day plan

Three things here change a plan that runs over several sessions. The rollover hour says when the night is stamped. The widest-hour column says which minutes to avoid at both ends of the trade. The tradability figures say where the day moves enough to be worth arriving at all.

The rest is detail about getting in. For the recurring half of the bill see measured swap rates; for the schedule that decides how the nights are counted see trading conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Which hour does a held position have to pass through every night?
The daily rollover at 00:00 FxPro server time, about UTC+3, which is 10:30 IST. Any position still open at that point takes the swap for that night; a position closed before it does not.
How wide does EUR/USD get around the rollover?
In the measured hourly profile above, the average around that hour runs several times the calm-hour median, and the worst spike in the sample is wider again. Gold widens far more sharply at the same point. The readings themselves are in the hourly table, which is re-measured rather than quoted.
Does holding through the rollover cost me that wide spread?
No. A spread is paid when you open and when you close, so a position simply sitting through the rollover pays nothing extra for the widening. What it does pay for that night is the overnight swap.
Should I close a multi-day position at the rollover hour?
The measured profile says it is the most expensive hour to transact in, because the spread you have to cross is at its widest. If the exit is not urgent, the calm hours listed above cost less to leave through.
What is the all-in cost of a EUR/USD trade on Raw+?
About $9 per standard lot round-turn — roughly $2 of spread plus the $7 Raw+ commission ($3.50 per side). That is the whole cost if the trade closes the same day; every night it stays open adds a swap charge on top of it.
Does the median spread tell me anything about a trade held for a week?
Very little. The median prices the entry and the exit, while over a week the total is dominated by the nights in between. Our swap rates page carries the measured per-night figures and the day, week and month totals for one standard lot.
Are these real spreads or advertised numbers?
Real. They are measured on FxPro's own MetaTrader 5 Raw+ feed by logging every tick, not taken from marketing. The advertised 'from 0.0 pips' is a best-case floor; the measured EUR/USD minimum was 0.2 pips.
