FxPro Swap & Overnight Fees | FxPro India
A swap (or rollover) is the interest debited or credited when you hold a leveraged position overnight.
Open FxPro Account →Swap is what a position costs while it is alive, as opposed to what it cost to open. At FxPro any leveraged position still open past the daily rollover is debited or credited an overnight swap for that night; the amount depends on the instrument and on which way the trade is held, and the schedule read from the live server charges Wednesday nights triple so that the weekend value dates are collected in advance. That makes holding cost a calendar problem rather than a price problem: five charging nights in a normal week carrying seven days of value, and a total that keeps growing for as long as the trade stays open. The tables below give the measured per-night figure for each instrument and what one standard lot adds up to over a day, a week and a month, entry spread and commission included. Check the live long and short swap for your instrument in your platform before holding on.
Measured swap rates (Raw+)
| Instrument | Long — per lot / night | Short — per lot / night | Long carry / yr | Short carry / yr |

| USD/JPY | +$4.49 (6.9 pts) | −$18.20 (-27.95 pts) | +1.64% | −6.64% |
| XAU/USD (Gold) | −$67.90 (-67.9 pts) | +$27.00 (27 pts) | −5.7% | +2.27% |
What you are debited (−) or credited (+) per standard lot held past the daily rollover, measured on FxPro’s own MT5 Raw+ feed (with the raw points in brackets). A negative number costs you to hold; a positive one pays you. Triple swap is applied on Wednesday night to cover the weekend value date. Carry / yr is the annualised swap yield (swap × 365 ÷ notional at the live price) — a rough guide to what holding the position costs or earns over a year, shown where we have a live price. |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| EUR/USD | $17.90 | $71.30 | $276.00 | $7.10 | −$4.30 | −$48.00 |
| GBP/USD | $16.10 | $34.70 | $106.00 | $17.20 | $42.40 | $139.00 |

| USD/CAD | $8.26 | −$1.46 | −$38.72 | $15.72 | $50.76 | $185.08 |
| USD/JPY | $4.46 | −$22.48 | −$125.75 | $27.15 | $136.35 | $554.95 |
| XAU/USD (Gold) | $89.90 | $497.30 | $2,059.00 | −$5.00 | −$167.00 | −$788.00 |
Total net cost to hold one standard lot over time — the spread plus accumulated swap. A positive figure is what it costs you; a negative one means you come out ahead (positive carry). For example, holding EUR/USD long for a month costs about $276, while a EUR/USD short earns about $48. Based on measured spreads and current swaps — rates vary.

Open FxPro Account →The night is the unit
Nothing you did during the day changes this charge. It is triggered by the calendar: at 00:00 on the FxPro server clock, 10:30 IST, the value date rolls forward, and whatever is still open at that instant is charged for the night. Trade twenty times and close every one of them before it, and there is nothing to pay. Leave a single position open by accident, and there is.
That is why a holding plan needs a number of nights in it before it needs anything else. The nightly figure is re-read from the live server each day and is not yours to fix. The count of nights is the one input you set yourself, and it is the one that multiplies everything else.
Five charges, seven days: the shape of a week
A calendar, not a price list, decides this part of the bill. The trading week carries five value dates, Monday through Friday, and the weekend carries none. Wednesday night takes three of the seven at once, because the date rolled that night lands on the far side of Saturday and Sunday. A position that sleeps through Wednesday ages three days in one night.
Two holds of identical length can therefore sit on different parts of the week and come out at different totals. Thursday to Tuesday crosses the weekend and skips the heavy night; the same span beginning on Monday does not. Over a quarter the difference evens out; on a three-day or four-day trade it is a visible line in the total. The schedule behind it is on our trading conditions page.
Reading the ladder before you open, not after
The measured ladder above rewards being read as a horizon rather than as a table. The one-day row still looks like the cost of getting in; the one-week row is where that stops being true; the one-month row is almost entirely nights. On gold the ladder is far steeper: in the reading above a long climbs by more than an order of magnitude between the one-day row and the one-month row, while the entry cost printed beside it never moves at all.
Holiday weeks bend it again. When a market takes a day off, the value dates behind it shift and the night carrying the extra days moves with them, so last week's pattern is not a safe assumption for the next one. Price the plan before opening it — nights against the per-night figure, plus the one-off from our spreads page — and check the capital side with the margin calculator.

What traders report
Overnight cost only lands on a statement if a position survives the rollover, so the people who mention it here are holders by definition — and there are two of them, no more. Neither is unhappy: one had been sitting on short major pairs since November and describes the charge as light, while the other reports skipping the issue entirely on a swap-free Islamic account.
FxPro doesn't charge high swap commissions. I've been holding short positions on gbpusd and eurusd since november.
I'm a swing trader, so for me the spreads is just nice and acceptable with 0 commission, they offer Islamic swap free.
